Open Day - The Second Day
October 24th, 2007
The open day was such a great success that we had to continue another day. More than 50 children came to have auditions for the music and art school. During their wait, the children drawed colorful pictures with the words: "I Love You Silwan," in Arabic. For pictures from the open day, please click here.
Open Day
October 23rd, 2007
On the 23rd of October, an Open Day for the music and art school in Silwan, in East Jerusalem, will take place. Flyers and posters were handed out and hung around the village, and we have already received excited reactions from children and parents. The art lessons are open to children between 12 to 14 years old, and will be given to a class of 10 boys and a class of 10 girls. The participants of the music lessons will be between 6 to 12 years old, and will be divided in 3 to 4 groups of 10 children. The first lessons will take place on Sunday, October 28th, where children will already have a taste of beating on Darbukas (Arab percussion) and painting.
Summer Games
July/August, 2007
Three summer camps filled the summer days of hundreds of Palestinian children with music, art, sport, creativity, performances and lots of fun. This year, for the first time, Israeli children from Jerusalem also joined the activities in the village of A-Tuwane in the West Bank. Prelude Foundation was one of the sponsors of the Summer Games 2007 project, where two of its founders, Fabienne van Eck (Holland) and Danny Felsteiner (Israel) gave music workshops. For more information, pictures and movies go to www.summergames2007.org.
