Prelude Foundation brings children and youth in the Middle East together by promoting joint projects and initiatives in the fields of art, sports, education, social interaction and music. Our emphasis is on tolerance, mutuality, intercultural awareness and nonviolence. We aim to reach every child whose life has been adversely affected by the ongoing conflict, regardless of nationality, religion, gender or economic status.
Prelude Foundation believes that the youth of today will shape the world of tomorrow. In a region where violence and poverty constitute reality for hundreds of thousands of children, there is an immediate need for long-term intercultural and educational projects.
Working together with local nongovernmental organizations and community leaders in countries in the Middle East, Prelude aims to:
- Bring children and youth together by means of art, sports, education, social interaction and music.
- Promote constructive dialogue between youth of different nationalities and religions, with emphasis on listening, tolerance, mutual trust, intercultural awareness, and nonviolence.
- Initiate projects of community empowerment through cultural centers where children and teenagers can participate in extracurricular activities.
- Provide local communities with tools to deal with children traumatized by violence, poverty, oppression and the loss of family or homes.
- Encourage local communities, groups and individuals in the Middle East to take initiatives of joint action, cultural exchange and collective activities for the benefit of the young generation.
